Mantle Progress: Actual Results

The hearth is finally done. For almost a year my to-do list has included, 'select granite'. The wooden hearth panels have been in place with no cap. As the rest of the fireplace nears completion, I finally completed the task.

The mantle in the picture is not installed, it's just sitting in place for mock up- it isn't even painted. The next post should hopefully mark the completion of this project.

 And here is the plan I started with. It's coming together!
